This Sandhill Crane pair built a nest straight out from the viewing dock at Old Cedar Avenue Bridge over Long Meadow Lake in Bloomington, MN. Each parent takes a turn sitting on the eggs, while the other one forages. I was lucky enough to be there when the female was done foraging and exchanged brooding duty with the male. The 2 eggs were due to hatch within a few days. But I heard that both parents abandoned the nest. Not sure why.
